So what u sayin??

So yes indeed I'm at it again letting my mind spray were it may... becareful not to get none on you, the side affects could cause spontaneous thought and deeper intellect so indeed this could be a "MADE U LOOK" moment cause im shootin... (shout out to Nas). Anyway before i get too off the beat'n path lets get to it. Today I'm really trippin about the power of the words we speak and how we can use them to build or tear our worlds apart. In Genesis 17:1-22 the Bible discusses the promise that God made with Abraham concerning him becoming the father of a great nation and how his seed will be as vast as the grains of sand and as numerous as the stars in the sky. At this time the Lord was having a convo with Abram, as he was known then, and adviced him that he was adding the H-A-M on to his name (guess u could say God was letting abram know he was about to go ham)!!! i kid i kid LOL . Now you may ask what significance does this have to the power of words? Well before I bring this around let me also point out the story of John the Baptist's father in Luke 1:5-25. In this instance Gabriel the angel appears to Zacharias while in the temple and adviced that the thing he has prayed for will come to pass.... he and his wife Elizbeth will have a son and his name will be called John. In the midst of gettin his prayer answered and this vision from God's messanger Zacharias replies "how can this be" considering he and his wifes ages, automatically speaking doubt and lookin at the circumstance and not the word of God which was being delivered to him. In that instant Gabriel advised that due to his disbelief ,even while standing in the presence of an Angel..(how much more proof do u need maaaan?!?!) he would not be able to utter a word at all during his wifes preganancy and so it was God- shut em down !!!shut em.. shut em down!!!! (okay so i get carried away stay with me). While pondering on these two stories I feel like I had a light bulb moment! Bam it hit me.... when God added H-A-M to Abrahams name he essentially insured that anytime his name was spoken His "will" for Abraham would be spoken out into the cosmos ..."Father of many nations can u take out the trash", "Hey Father of many nations dinners ready"...."OOh Father of many nations i got UNO". Everytime anyone spoke Abrahams new name wether they beleived it or not they were speaking in harmony with Gods promise for his life essentially sowing seeds that would reap a harvest. Also knowing how powerful the words of our mouth are the Lord would not allow his plans to be affected by the doubt of Johns father, hence his 9 month bout with lock jaw. With that being said take stock of what u let fall out of your mouth! Are you placing a stumbling block in your own way by the things you speak ?? "Oh this is killing me, why cant I ever catch a break , this will never turn our right" or are you a mountain mover planting seeds of victory with everybreath you take!?!?! Its never to late to focus on the things that will take you and your family to the next level and considering the Bible says God spoke everything into existence our words would be a great place to start! until next time "shalom" -PEACE

...P.S. According to Strong's Concordance 7965 Shalom also means completeness, wholeness, health, welfare, safety soundness, tranquility, prosperity, perfectness, fullness, rest, harmony, the absence of agitation or discord. So indeed "shalom" to you all and I mean that!

faith
Whats good fam im just jumpin back in the blogesphere to shoot my 2 cents about something ive been meditating on lately. While cutting the grass the other day i felt like i got a word from the Lord concerning "faith". Alot of times he speaks to me when im zoned out so it was no great surprise as i was in robot mode that he decided this would be a good time to download some needed info to me. The conversation , albeit one sided started with the Lord pointin out to me that i needed to "exercise" my faith , to which i replied "yes lord i get it, i do need to exercise my faith, i get it". Well ..his response really got my attention when i heard him say , no you really dont! .."get it" which lead me to ask , as he knew i would, "well then what do u mean". The Lord preceded to advice me that my faith is just like the strength that lays dormant in my muscles. Just as at birth we all have a measure of strength no matter how small , even an infant has a "measure" of strength he has also given us a "measure" of faith. The problem is we'll work out our physical bodies to become stronger or in better condition while our, shall we say "faith" muscles lay dormant, and in a time of need we look to summon them at will and wonder why we fall short at times of that ability to move mountains in the time of need or maintain under the pressures aka weight of life. Ever waitin for that quick adrenaline shot(aka the Holy Spirit) to assist us in having that wonder working power that will enable us to overcome whatever obstacles or thing we are believing for. Its been often said that in a time of chrysis a sudden rush of Adrenalin can infuse the physical body with enough power to do the extraordinary, the Lord pointed out to me that whether we realize it or not thats how we approach our faith life. Never realizing that, thats a hit or miss method. The Lord advised me that we should be looking for opportunities to put our faith to the proverbial "test" in this way we are stretching and strengthening it. Got a headache ???stretch your faith..speak to it and command it to leave...need a better job...go put in applications at places u would like to work and "believe that u can have that job".....footnote faith without works is dead just like sayin your on a diet but never actually changing your eating habits is futile, find scriptures that support your faith(these are like your multivitamins)... true "faith" is something u go forward and act upon ...The Lord expressed to me that we should constantly be seeking things to apply our faith to no matter how small or trivial like cross training to hit different muscles groups and force them to grow because by doin so , the activation of our faith will become "second nature" and when needed, because we have built up our faith muscles we can say to whatever mountain we face "BE THOU REMOVED AND CAST INTO THE SEA" and it will be done! Jesus is a excellent example of a "faith -work- out -junkie", he even stunted and withered a fig tree on the drop of a dime cause he was hungry and the tree hadn't produced fruit...now if that aint goin hard i dont know what is LOL...so lets hit the gym and get built up "in our most holy faith" -Holla!

The Message of Prosperity in the Church...

I remember back in 99...A well known "prophetess" was a guest speaker at our church. She preached a powerful message about giving. Me, being a somewhat ignorant to the gospel at the time, embraced the words and took them at face value. At the end of the message the "prophetess" began telling the congregation, "God needs some backpay". People were coming in droves giving their money at the altar. People gave everything from money, jewelry, shoes, coats, etc. One lady even gave her diamond wedding ring. At the time I had just moved into an apartment and was not making much money so I could only give $20. However, I felt bad. I felt like I had not "given God enough backpay." The convictions coming from the "prophetess" were strong. So strong that it was quite intimidating. People were leaving church, going to the ATM and coming back to church to give. This should give you an idea of how long this went on. Anyway, I ended up giving money, my necktie, and my cuff links. (I still miss those by the way...LOL.) If you were to have looked at the altar, it reminded you of a consignment shop and a bank emptying out all of their drawers and shelves. According to the "prophetess"...this backpay was long overdue, and for the building of the kingdom of God. Needless to say, I left feeling terrible...even though I was broke...that was my last $20. A few weeks later I heard from a reliable source that this particular "prophetess", took all the money and the jewelry with her, and left the clothing and shoes. A few years later I found out that this was a ritual of hers. Take the money and the jewelry and bounce.

Many preachers teach prosperity. I, personally, do not have a problem with it. I sincerely feel like Jesus didn't die for us to be broke. However, have we gotten out of hand with the message?

I found this video particularly interesting. I will not say whether or not I agree with it...But this is what I am referring to.

What sayeth you??
