Went to the Mic Joint this past Sat. (Finally) The theme for night was all about the Brotha's. Our Boy Penn Hunter was in the house who opened it up with a throwback and got the crowd jumping as they all recited the lyrics to Rob Bass and DJ Easy Roc "I wanna Rock Right Now...." Then he goes into "Trick or Treat" (Tasty Delectable’s) followed by "The Art of Bastardom" WOW!!!
RL came on next. A BIG man with BIG words with a BIG vision on a BIG mission. He got a new joint out on CD BABY: "Ambassador" I had to get this joint after he ripped the mic up like that. He blessed me with a copy of his first joint. GO PEEP IT.
Ant got it in with providing smooth transitions between speakers and provided hilarious comedic interludes (Yeah Penn I didn’t know there was someone as tweaked as you). The Band road the night with sounds of serenity. They kept the vibe cool and smooth though it was HOT.
Silent War took us to school rocking the fresh Akademics T-shirt. As he got into his piece you could see him close his eyes and disappear into the imagery of his words. His words paint a vivid picture full of life, love and Grown as he gave us "Name my seed Righteous" (Bless you and your wife on that journey.)
D-Life a new speaker to the night with his swift speech is a young brotha with the sky at his finger tips "literally".....his piece gave us an appreciation for Sat cartoons and parenthood. (Good Luck in NY)
Jay's food for thought: Don’t go to the Alter off Care and not Love...(I'll let that sink in for all you singles looking be or get married)
The Men definitely did their thing. one after the other they brought life and power to the ears of this beautiful community of believers. PERFECT YOUR GIFTS
At the intermission I was finally able to physically meet the Man that is Silent War. We built a lil and spoke on the ill T-Shirt Penn was rocking that night with the Mic in the middle of his Chest. (Should have took a pic)
After the intermission a few other speakers did their thing War did 2 more pieces as did Penn. A few ladies got up and added encouragement and appreciation for the Men with their pieces and the night ended with a Praise and Worship Song sending us home ready for Sunday morning which by the way was about 1hr later LOL.
From Kingdom Knock I hope this Iron Sharpens your Iron. I had a blessed night at the MIC.
